Job Responsibilities
- Define strategic objectives for the PMO and implement programs to achieve them.
- Develop and ensure compliance with project management standards aligned with organizational and industry best practices.
- Provide project management tools and templates for organization-wide use.
- Oversee the project portfolio to ensure effective prioritization and resource allocation.
- Monitor project progress, budgets, risks, and overall portfolio health.
- Provide regular updates to leadership on project status and outcomes.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and stakeholders.
- Engage with senior stakeholders to understand priorities and communicate project updates.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the PMO team and project managers.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure training and development opportunities for project management staff.
- Oversee resource planning to mitigate risks and optimize efficiency across projects.
- Manage the ASO PMO function overseeing over 300 projects totaling SGD 60 million.
- Lead transformation initiatives to enhance project portfolio reporting, governance, and lifecycle management.
- Ensure adherence to project lifecycle processes by Project Managers.
- Collaborate with the IT Finance team to manage project costs, considering the investment budget.
- Monitor larger, high-criticality projects closely to address risks and issues promptly.
- Continuously improve the project governance model and explore enhancements to the APAC governance scheme.
- Enhance Project Management capabilities in ASO through knowledge sharing, training, and certifications.
- Streamline existing processes to ensure they are fit-for-purpose.
- Support strategic decision-making at the organizational level using portfolio management experience.
- Facilitate successful project delivery by building strong relationships with stakeholders, teams, and technical delivery units.
Job Requirements
- Minimum 15 years of IT experience, including portfolio management.
- Experience overseeing a wide variety of projects (over 300 projects, SGD 60 million).
- PMP certification.
- Strategic mindset with experience engaging multiple stakeholders (development leads, project managers, senior stakeholders, business users).
- Proven track record of delivering positive outcomes in ambiguous environments.
- Experience establishing frameworks, processes, and procedures for large organizations.
- Collaborative attitude with a growth mindset.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Open-minded and innovative in exploring solutions to optimize processes.
- Effective communicator capable of persuasively sharing ideas with technical and non-technical audiences.
- Finance qualification and PMP are preferred.
- Experience working in a multicultural environment, understanding diversity and cultural differences.
- Excellent presentation skills.
- Comfortable operating in ambiguous environments.
