Job description

What’s the job?

As Director of Sales & Marketing, you’ll develop and implement strategies to ensure revenue and room night sales goals are achieved, sales strategies are set, tactical plans are created and implemented, and results are monitored and achieved. You’ll work closely with Marketing and Revenue Management in formulating and implementing hotel strategies for Holiday Inn Express Singapore Clarke Quay.

Your Day-to-Day

FINANCIAL RETURNS

  • Hit all personal/team sales goals and maximize profitability
  • Help prepare the departmental budget and financial plans
  • Help prepare the hotel’s sales and marketing plan
  • Create and implement sales plans that drive measurable incremental occupancy, increase average rates, volume, food and beverage, and banquet sales
  • Produce monthly reports and sales forecasts to analyze current/potential market and sales trends, coordinate activities to increase revenue and market share, and monitor performance to ensure actual sales meet or exceed revenue plans
  • Create and develop special events and sales blitzes to showcase the hotel to potential clients
  • Attend trade shows and major market events locally and nationally to promote new business and increase sales opportunities
  • Propose innovative marketing ideas and develop deployment strategies to grow market share

PEOPLE

  • Manage daily sales activities, plan and assign work ensuring proper staffing
  • Develop your team through coaching and feedback, create performance and development goals, and recognize good performance
  • Train colleagues to meet hotel revenue goals and provide necessary tools
  • Recommend or initiate HR-related actions when needed
  • Create a positive working environment and foster collaboration across departments
  • Interact with guests, vendors, and other contacts as needed
  • Maintain strong relationships with key clients and outside contacts to increase revenue
  • Coordinate marketing communication activities with Regional Marketing Communications
  • Participate in sales calls to acquire new business or close opportunities
  • Identify PR opportunities and support marketing communication strategies
  • Collaborate with Regional Marketing Communications on regional and national promotions

GUEST EXPERIENCE

  • Provide guests with information to enhance their experience
  • Schedule and coordinate conventions and business group activities
  • Communicate guest needs and special requirements to relevant departments
  • Lead marketing efforts to upsell hotel services and amenities

RESPONSIBLE BUSINESS

  • Work with local community leaders and groups to promote the hotel
  • Act as the sales liaison with internal departments and external partners
  • Market the hotel’s sustainability initiatives
  • Enhance the hotel’s reputation and handle media inquiries as needed
  • Identify and implement improvements in marketing and sales performance
  • Implement brand service strategies and initiatives to foster long-term customer relationships
  • Perform ad hoc duties as required

What we need from you

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in marketing or related field
  • Minimum 4 years of hospitality sales and marketing experience with supervisory responsibilities
  • Strong knowledge of local business trends
  • Strategic and tactical thinking skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for relationship building
  • Ability to assess market trends and create strategic opportunities
