Your Mission:
Lead the transformation of next-gen materials from lab-scale discovery to scalable, commercial products. Build the bridge between scientific excellence and industrial relevance.
What You’ll Do:
- Drive end-to-end product development across nanomaterials - from design to deployment.
- Lead small, agile teams of chemists, engineers, and data scientists focused on rapid prototyping and iterative validation.
- Establish feedback loops between synthesis, characterization, machine learning models, and customer requirements.
- Collaborate directly with customers, and investors to align product development with market needs.
- Build strategic partnerships with manufacturing partners, research institutions, and early adopters.
- Lead IP strategy and co-author high-impact publications and patents.
- Manage timelines and resources across a portfolio of R&D initiatives with commercialization targets in mind.
You Should Have:
- PhD in Physical Chemistry, Materials Science or equivalent.
- 10–15+ years in advanced materials R&D, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership or founder role.
- Track record of bringing materials innovations to industrial.
- Experience with machine learning in materials discovery or process optimization.
- A mix of corporate R&D, academic and startup experience.
- Excellent communication and team-building skills.
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, high-ambiguity environment.
Bonus if You Have:
- Experience working with or founding a venture-backed startup
- Familiarity with pilot-scale manufacturing or tech transfer
- Published and patented innovations in energy materials, flexible devices, or nanostructured surfaces
