Job summary

GetGo Technologies in Singapore seeks a Director of Engineering to lead the Engineering organisation and execute the roadmap for reliable delivery and scalable growth. You will oversee mobile, web, backend, QA, and platform teams, strengthening the operating model, architecture, and capabilities to support GetGo products and mobility operations.

You will collaborate with Product, Design, Data, and Operations to surface risks early, drive architectural decisions, and deliver measurable business

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software engineering with 5+ years in leadership.
• Proven track record transforming delivery performance and quality.

The Director of Engineering is responsible for leading GetGo's Engineering organisation and executing the technical and organisational roadmap required for reliable delivery and scalable growth. Reporting to the Chief Product and Technology Officer (CPTO), you will lead Engineering across mobile, web, backend, quality engineering, and platform or infrastructure. You will strengthen the operating model, architecture, quality, and capabilities needed to support GetGo's products, operations, and mobility mission.

How You Will Make An Impact

• Set and execute the Engineering strategy, translating company priorities into a measurable 12-month roadmap spanning delivery capability, architecture, platform evolution, quality, reliability, security, and technical investment, while contributing to longer-term Product and Technology direction.
• Own Engineering performance and execution, establishing the operating model, capacity planning, delivery practices, and health metrics needed to make commitments transparent, outcomes predictable, and trade-offs explicit.
• Build a high-performing Engineering organisation, developing strong managers and technical leaders and building flexible teams across mobile, web, backend, quality engineering, and platform or infrastructure, with stronger cross-platform, full-stack, and end-to-end ownership.
• Guide the evolution of GetGo's technology architecture, defining and sequencing the technical investments required to balance near-term roadmap delivery with the deliberate remediation of technical debt and development of extensible shared services and platforms that can support new products, operating models, and markets.
• Elevate quality, reliability, and operational resilience, embedding quality throughout the software-development lifecycle through effective test automation, production-like environments, observability, release controls, incident management, and continuous improvement.
• Manage Engineering investment and cost efficiency, making disciplined build-buy-partner recommendations and ensuring that people, platforms, infrastructure, tools, and vendors are aligned to the highest-value business and technical outcomes.
• Make AI a systemic Engineering capability, applying AI and automation across planning, development, testing, review, documentation, and operations to improve productivity and quality, with clear human oversight, security controls, and measurable outcomes.
• Lead as a cross-functional partner, working closely with Product, Design, Data, Operations, and other business leaders to resolve complex trade-offs, surface risks early, and connect Engineering decisions to customer, operational, and commercial outcomes.

What Makes You A Great Fit

• Experienced Engineering leader: 10+ years in software engineering, including at least five years in Engineering leadership and experience leading managers and senior technical leaders across mobile, web, backend, quality engineering, and platform or infrastructure.
• Proven transformation experience: A track record of materially improving an Engineering organisation's delivery performance, quality, capability, architecture, or cost, with clear evidence of the starting point, interventions, and measurable results.
• Strong operating and commercial judgement: The ability to balance roadmap delivery, technical investment, reliability, talent, and cost without optimising any one dimension in isolation.
• Deep technical and architectural judgement: Sufficient breadth to challenge decisions across modern application, service, cloud, testing, and platform architectures and to determine when specialist expertise is required.
• Applied AI competence: Personal fluency and experience responsibly applying AI and automation across Engineering processes to improve velocity, quality, decision-making, or cost.
• Experience in operationally complex technology environments: Experience in a scaling technology company is required; exposure to mobility, logistics, marketplaces, fintech, IoT, or another reliability-sensitive consumer business is advantageous.
• Strong communication and influence: The ability to make technical dependencies and trade-offs clear, communicate difficult news early, and build alignment across leaders with different objectives.
