Overview

The HR Director will serve as a strategic business partner to the Flow Control and Actuation Technologies Business Units, providing leadership and direction across all facets of human resources. Reporting to the Vice President / General Manager - Asia Pacific, this role is responsible for aligning HR strategies with business objectives to drive organizational performance, talent development, and operational excellence.

This position will lead the execution of HR initiatives that support workforce planning, talent acquisition, employee engagement, performance management, and organizational development. The HR Director will work closely with senior business leaders to ensure that HR solutions are tailored to meet the unique needs of the business units, fostering a high-performance culture and supporting long-term growth.

Responsibilities
  • Strategic/Tactical HRBP Support & Advisory:
    • Partner with Functional leaders within the business unit to develop and implement HR strategies that support business goals and operational priorities.
    • Work with Site HR Managers to address site specific issues and concerns that impacts on business performance.
    • Ensure compliance with labor laws and company HR policies and coordinate the ethics investigation where needed.
    • Provide advisory to Site HR Managers in developing and implementing a strategy to effectively engage with labor unions or employee representative bodies. Fostering positive labor relations, building trust, promoting open communication channels, and developing collaborative approaches to address employee concerns and interest.
  • Performance Management
    • Manage the annual performance management process within the Business Units including coordinating the performance evaluation timelines, facilitating performance discussions and evaluations, providing guidance on performance improvement, documenting performance feedback and ratings; and ensure agreed actions are executed.
  • Inclusive Workforce & Employee Engagement:
    • Coordinate the employee engagement surveys (ensure timely communication and completion of the annual survey across sites), analyze feedback, and lead/coordinate the development of action plans across critical sites to address areas of improvement.
    • Build and implement initiatives to improve employee engagement and inclusive workplace culture.
    • Partner with leadership to foster an inclusive and high-performing work environment.
  • Annual Merit Planning & Bonus Planning:
    • Lead and coordinate the regional annual merit and bonus planning process across FCV and ACT sites, in alignment with global compensation guidelines and budget.
    • Provide guidance and support to managers to ensure fairness, consistency, and compliance in all compensation-related activities.
  • Organizational & Talent Reviews:
    • Coordinate the annual organizational and talent review process, including succession planning and workforce assessments.
    • Work closely with business leaders to identify high-potential talent and critical role successors.
    • Create and implement post-talent review action plans to enhance talent development, retention and succession readiness. This includes addressing critical talent and organizational gaps that may impede business performance.
  • Training & Development Planning:
    • Collaborate with internal Learning & Development resources to ensure Emerson’s Leadership and Managerial programs are timely rolled out across our sites.
    • Assess regional/functional training needs and where possible, develop tailored learning and development programs to address targeted needs.
    • Track and measure the effectiveness of training programs and recommend improvements.

For This Role, You Will Need
  • Degree or equivalent experience in Human Resource Management with 10-15+ years of experience in a HR Business Partner or similar strategic HR role at a regional level.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and partner with senior leaders.
  • Experience working in a highly matrix organization and possess a collaborative mindset which enables seamless activities in a matrix structure.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and provide insights.
  • Experience working in a regional or multinational environment is a plus.
