Job Description
What a HCD Design Director does at Visa Consulting and Analytics
- Serve as a Creative Director, lead design thinking with a human-centered design (HCD) approach, build new business and clientele, and support multiple products and services from inception.
- Lead engagement teams serving clients on complex, large-scale, and deadline-driven projects, gaining exposure to diverse topics.
- Work in teams of 3-5 consultants/designers, managing specific project aspects, conducting research, sourcing data, leading co-creation sessions, and identifying solutions.
- Design, facilitate client workshops, and synthesize insights into visions, frameworks, and concepts using human-centered and lean startup methodologies.
- Rapidly develop prototypes by integrating solutions within Visa or externally.
- Support market testing through qualitative and quantitative research methods.
- Develop an understanding of digital payment trends and Visa’s capabilities to create relevant solutions for clients.
- Present findings to internal stakeholders and clients, and collaborate on implementing recommendations.
- Contribute to practice-building initiatives like IP generation, training, mentorship, and team development.
Qualifications
About You:
- 12+ years of experience in Product Design, with a strong portfolio demonstrating user-centered design principles.
- Progression in a consulting firm environment.
- Deep understanding of user experience design, service design, user research, emerging trends, and technologies.
- Experience leading design projects end-to-end.
- Proven track record managing client engagements with excellent presentation skills and client focus.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects.
- Proficiency in creating user experience maps, service blueprints, wireframes, prototypes, and presentations.
- Fluency in digital design software such as Adobe Creative Suite and Figma.
- Creative, analytical, team-oriented, and collaborative with strong communication skills.
- Experience handling complex, ambiguous problems and delivering results under deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for delivering structured presentations.
- Ability to think analytically, build strong arguments, and adapt to changing scenarios.
- Self-motivated learner and proactive team player.
Additional Preferences:
- Experience in management consulting on strategic engagements.
- Payments and banking industry experience preferred.
- High academic achievement from a top-tier institution.
