Director - E-Trading Low Latency Order Management & Connectivity Tech Lead

Citi Equities Technology organization is looking for a senior, hands-on technologist to drive the global architecture & technology delivery of its E-Trading Connectivity & OMS platforms.

This strategic system provides access to Citi’s Equities trading platform for thousands of clients worldwide. Serving as the primary interface to the bank’s e-trading capabilities, it plays a crucial role in delivering differentiated service & a consistent trading experience across various geographies for our clients.

The senior technologist in this role will be responsible for ensuring architectural and design consistency across regions, adherence to latency targets, maintaining high standards on code quality and continuous improvement of delivery processes like automated testing, dev ops & SRE. This role will provide hands-on coding and design leadership to the global engineering team and work with other Electronic Trading leads on setting design direction for our global low-latency trading frameworks.

The role requires specialized skills in low-latency trading, zero garbage techniques and performance tuning of OS & network interactions. Prior experience in building low latency, high throughput systems with microsecond precision is necessary.

Responsibilities:

1. Design, development and support of high-performance electronic trading systems.
2. Partner with business users, quant researchers and clients on product development.
3. Manage and support a global team of developers & QA specialists.
4. Continuous improvements of SDLC processes including Agile delivery, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines & support processes.
5. Envision, design and implement test cases for trading functions.

Qualifications:

1. Minimum 12 years of relevant experience with strong technical knowledge either Java or C++.
2. Demonstrable expertise in low-latency trading, zero garbage techniques and performance tuning of OS & network interactions.
3. Prior experience in leading global development teams.
4. Previous experience in developing E-Trading trading platforms. Strong knowledge of FIX protocol.
5. Strong understanding of automated testing techniques.
6. Solid understanding of SDLC practices including Agile methodologies and Continuous Integration processes.
7. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, set goals and meet deadlines.
8. Strong communication skills with a demonstrable ability to present & grasp complex concepts in a multicultural environment.

Education:

1. Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience.
