Job summary

Rubicon Carbon in Singapore is seeking a Director, Carbon Science to lead technical strategy across carbon projects, MRV, and market integrity.

You will guide methodology selection, due diligence, and portfolio management while engaging with developers, registries, auditors, and investors.

This senior role requires deep knowledge of nature-based and technology-based pathways, strong commercial judgment, and ability to travel internationally.

Qualifications

• PhD or master's in environmental science, geospatial science, engineering, or related field preferred.
• At least 7 years in carbon markets and project development.
• Deep understanding of major carbon credit pathways and methodologies.
• Hands-on experience in design, monitoring, validation, and verification.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership across carbon projects including nature-based and tech-based solutions.
• Lead technical due diligence for investments and partnerships with PDDs and monitoring reports.
• Support asset management by identifying underperformance drivers and issuance risks.
• Ensure compliance with Verra, Gold Standard, and other standards; monitor market integrity.
• Collaborate with science, investments, sales, and asset management teams to translate complexity into decisions.
