The solutions we build help make everything from virtual reality experiences to breakthroughs in neural networks possible. We do it all while committing to integrity, sustainability, and giving back to our communities. Because doing so can fuel the very innovation we are pursuing.

We are looking for a Director, Capacity Central Planning, Assembly & Test, Scenario & CAPEX Planning.

Main Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Senior Director, Assembly & Test, Central Planning, you will be directly responsible for leading scenario planning and expansion strategy across internal and external Assembly & Test sites to support capacity growth, diversification and long-term strategy. You will develop and integrate planning models that optimize Micron’s footprint across internal factories and subcontractor partnerships (OSATs). You will lead and govern the budgeting, funding process and approvals for the entire Assembly & Test capital management, ensuring cost-effective investment decisions for optimized CAPEX management across the Assembly & Test network. You will build & drive a comprehensive site strategy framework, factoring in product roadmaps, incentive compliance, customer-specific requirements and regional risk mitigations. You will also lead initiatives to secure and optimize financial benefits from government programs and partnerships.

Other Responsibilities:
  • Capacity Optimization & Space Planning – optimize space planning and improve space modelling for internal factories/sites to support current and future production needs. Lead strategic space planning initiatives, including Total Utility Maintenance (TUM) management and addressing complexities with long-lead time items.
  • Scenario Planning – engage with leadership across multiple sites to ensure alignment and consistency in strategic initiatives, manage & refine scenario planning processes to address the increased complexity of operating multiple sites and a diversified Assembly & Test network.
  • Strategy & Risk Management – develop & implement a robust mid- and long-term risk management strategy to mitigate global supply chain uncertainties and operational challenges, ensuring the Assembly & Test network is resilient to disruptions, with contingency plans in place for key risk factors.
  • Cost Optimization Initiatives – identify and lead cost-saving initiatives, including capital investment strategies, loading optimization between internal and external capacity, and improving workstation fungibility to reduce capital expenditures.
  • Process & Systems Improvement – lead continuous improvement efforts to enhance capacity planning processes, tools, and systems. Drive initiatives to streamline workflows and improve scalability across the global network.
  • Team Leadership & Development – build and mentor a high-performing team that is collaborative, innovative, and focused on driving continuous improvements in capacity planning and optimization.
  • Champion Digital Transformation and Planning Automation – drive innovation in scenario simulations and investment modelling, presenting cases, risk analysis, scenario trade-off recommendations to executive leadership.
Candidate Profile:

You must have at least a bachelor’s degree with at least 15 years of proven experience in capacity planning, operations management or strategic planning, preferably within Assembly & Test in the Semiconductor industry or high value/high volume manufacturing with at least 7 years in a people management role. You must have proven experience in scenario planning, expansion modelling, CAPEX governance and risk management within a global manufacturing network. You should possess strong analytical and decision-making skills, with expertise in capital investment strategies and deep expertise in strategic footprint planning and manufacturing network design. You must possess excellent communication & interpersonal skills with the ability to work at all levels. Experience in semiconductor manufacturing, especially in assembly & test is highly advantageous.

Preferred Skills:
  • Experience in semiconductor memory or related industries
  • Familiarity with planning systems and scenario simulation tools
  • Consistent track record in driving capacity expansion, cost optimization and establishing governance frameworks
  • Passion for driving innovation, cross-functional alignment and operational excellence
What to Expect:
  • Micron offers the benefits of a work environment that is stimulating, challenging and balanced; where personal & professional accomplishment, growth and excellence are a key driver. You will be working in a people management role within an established organization; and being part of an employee centric business that provides a large degree of autonomy to their management team and encourages creativity and development of new ideas.
