Title and Summary

Director, Business Development, CNPF Asia Pacific

The Director, Business Development, is dedicated to the Asia Pacific region with a focus on driving commercial success with the Corpay Cross Border (XB) business in the AP market. This role sits at the intersection of sales, product management, and customer engagement, ensuring that Corpay’s cross-border products are effectively referred to our FI partners. The role reports directly to the CNPF regional lead and has a dual line into the Corpay’s Central Lead to ensure customer centricity and systematic partnership execution.

As a Director, Business Development, you are a sales-driven professional with a deep understanding of local market dynamics, FI customer needs, and payments & XB products positioning. You will work closely with Account Management teams, Transfer Solutions leads, and other key market stakeholders to execute the joint go-to-market strategy with Corpay’s cross-border business, drive volume and revenue growth, and ensure customer satisfaction as part of the referral agreement.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Learn Corpay’s business value proposition and product solutions. Understand pre- and post-sales activities such as onboarding and implementation to facilitate and expedite deal closures.
  2. Collaborate with the Regional CNPF Lead, Regional President, and Divisional Presidents to curate a target list of financial institutions (FIs) by tier for referral to Corpay, based on Mastercard relationships, current payment offerings, existing payment providers, customer base, and market opportunity.
  3. Build relationships with Mastercard Account Management teams to promote the referral business. Work with account management to maintain and execute the referral list systematically, escalating if progress slows.
  4. Manage the end-to-end pipeline, report in Salesforce, and conduct monthly reviews of FI sales pipeline and client activity at the regional level, reporting into a global overview. Attend meetings between account managers, FIs, and Corpay to ensure proper introduction and description of topics.
  5. Ensure comprehensive handover details are provided to Corpay, including stakeholder mapping. Attend joint meetings with account managers, FIs, and Corpay.
  6. Assist in refining KPIs to reflect both referral and acquisition opportunities. Learn Corpay’s operations, provide feedback, and suggest improvements to the referral process.
  7. Track reasons for referral success or failure, maintaining lessons learned and engaging during QBRs with Corpay.

All about you:

  • Account management skills and/or sales experience.
  • Deep understanding of the payments industry, especially cross-border payments.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute quantifiable business plans.
  • Successful track record in business development and sales across the AP region, preferably in B2B payments.
  • Experience in pipeline management with strong sales methodology adoption.
  • Strong business acumen, negotiation, and influencing skills.
  • Analytical and operational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a highly matrixed organization.
  • Ability to develop and maintain high-quality relationships with stakeholders and C-suite customers/partners.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
