As the Team Lead for Bio-Energy, the candidate will be responsible for leading and growing Surbana Jurong’s Bio-Energy line of business. This includes renewable energy generation and fuels such as Biogas, Biomethane, Biomass, Biofuels, Refuse-Derived Fuels, and Waste-to-Energy. The candidate will oversee business development, secure new projects, and lead the team in managing and delivering Bio-Energy projects across various stages, including feasibility studies, conceptual and detailed design, energy yield calculation, technical due diligence, site and technology assessments, and technical consultation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and expand Surbana Jurong’s Bio-Energy business.
- Solicit new business and secure projects.
- Maintain strong client relationships.
- Manage Bio-Energy projects ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and meet technical standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize solutions and address technical challenges.
- Act as the primary contact with clients and stakeholders, managing expectations and resolving issues.
- Lead and manage engineering teams, ensuring adherence to quality standards and project requirements.
- Oversee design preparations such as plot plans, boiler islands, equipment layouts, and package identification.
- Coordinate with vendors and OEMs to specify technical details and data sheets.
- Prepare design basis reports and perform design calculations for mechanical equipment.
- Ensure designs conform to industry standards, codes, and regulations.
- Review technical specifications, P&IDs, and interface drawings.
- Develop and update engineering standards and best practices.
- Review vendor proposals and prepare technical evaluation reports.
- Provide technical support to the project team.
- Complete project closure checklists and schedule variance reports.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent is advantageous.
- At least 15 years of experience in design and project management of biomass, WtE, RDF, or biofuel projects.
- Proven track record in leading business growth and project delivery.
- Experience with engineering systems such as boilers, turbines, and heat exchangers is preferred.
- Proficiency in engineering software like SteamPro is advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of biomass, WtE, biofuel, and RDF design principles and operations.
- Familiarity with industry standards, maintenance, and reliability practices.
- Excellent problem-solving and teamwork skills.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
