A leading luxury hotel management company is seeking a Compliance Officer to assist in maintaining its global compliance program focusing on Anti-Bribery Anti-Corruption (ABAC). The successful candidate will have extensive legal experience, providing oversight and guidance on compliance issues across corporate and property levels. This role requires strong communication and project management skills, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8 years relevant legal experience with minimum of 5 years in regulatory/compliance role.
  • Previous compliance experience required as an ABAC lawyer or compliance officer.
  • Expert knowledge of global ABAC regulations.

Reporting to the SVP, Corporate Counsel and Compliance, the successful candidate will assist with the ongoing maintenance of Four Seasons’ global compliance program, primarily in the areas of Anti-Bribery Anti-Corruption (“ABAC”).

· Core Activities:

· Assist SVP, Corporate Counsel and Compliance in providing global ABAC related oversight and advice at both Corporate and Property levels.

· Assist with conducting internal reviews of ABAC-related concerns and assessing appropriate remediation where required.

· Assist with review and / or creation of policies and procedures at Corporate and Property levels to enable compliance with global ABAC requirements, and documentation/design of these policies and procedures.

· Provide assessment of various ABAC compliance risks at Corporate and Property levels.

· Remain current with all significant trends/developments in global ABAC regulations and enforcement.

· Detailed Duties:

· Assist SVP, Corporate Counsel and Compliance in leading review of all ABAC aspects of Corporate and Property level escalations / concerns, including Whistleblower concerns, and contribute to cross-functional assessment of necessary actions / remediation arising from reviews.

· Provide ABAC advice on relevant day to day compliance queries at Corporate and Property levels, including on Gifts and Entertainment issues, interaction with Government Officials, etc.

· Independently evaluate and where appropriate enhance existing practices and internal processes to ensure appropriate compliance posture is maintained over time.

· Co-ordination with Internal Audit in relation to potential ABAC issues identified by same.

· Assist with creation and maintenance of internal Corruption Perception Index.

· Assist in development of ABAC-related training materials and maintenance of ABAC training calendar.

Education:

· Law Degree (JD or LL.B.)

Professional Qualification:

· Previous compliance experience required, such as relevant experience as a regulatory or ABAC lawyer or compliance officer.

Expert knowledge of global ABAC regulations. Knowledge of Privacy, Anti-Money Laundering, Sanctions, and Competition/Anti-trust Regulations would be beneficial but not mandatory. Demonstrable experience in designing and implementing processes and procedures for global compliance programs, primarily in the area of ABAC.

Work experience:

- Minimum of 8 years relevant legal experience with minimum of 5 years in regulatory / compliance role, or a role interpreting regulatory requirements, with expert knowledge of ABAC.

· Strong relationship and negotiation skills with the ability to influence behaviour.

· Excellent project management skills.

· Commitment to follow all local and corporate policies and procedures.

· Must be able to provide assessment of various compliance risks at Corporate and Property levels.

Technical Skills:

· Technical skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office, Power Point, Excel.

· Strong IT skills.
