Job summary

La Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec (CDPQ) invites a seasoned Tax Director to lead taxation efforts for Asia Pacific investments from Singapore. You will oversee external consultants, drive tax planning, and coordinate returns across multiple jurisdictions while aligning with global practices and regulatory changes.

The role requires a law degree or equivalent, a Master’s in taxation, a CPA, and at least ten years of regional tax experience, including M&A, transfer pricing, and

Qualifications

• CPA designation, law degree or equivalent education; Master’s degree in taxation or equivalent education.
• Ten years of relevant taxation experience in the region.
• Experience in mergers and acquisitions, international tax and transfer pricing.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Bilingual (English and French if possible) both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Contract, supervise and coordinate the work of external tax consultants, including tax due diligence and structuring of new investments;
• Represent the taxation sector with various stakeholders involved in investments (Legal Affairs, managers and operations);
• Identify tax planning opportunities and related risks, as well as opportunities for tax savings by optimizing structures;
• Coordinate the preparation of tax returns with external tax consultants and other team members;
• Manage tax audits and maintain relationships with tax authorities in the region;
• Analyse and monitor international tax developments, emerging issues, trends and regulatory developments, and evaluate potential impacts on La Caisse’s activities to implement the changes necessary for compliance with the new rules.
