Job Description
Job PurposeThe New York Stock Exchange (an Intercontinental Exchange company) is seeking a Director to co-manage and co-lead our APAC capital markets (Ex-China). This role will report to the Head of International Capital Markets based in NYC. The primary responsibility of the individual in this position is to attract companies to list and admit their securities from all of APAC to trade on the NYSE and to cultivate important relationships with issuers, bankers, PE/VC firms, lawyers, auditing firms and industry associations from the region to promote NYSE as the ultimate exchange listing destination.Responsibilities
  • Overall responsibility for business development in Asia, leading, driving a pipeline of companies in the APAC region, and ultimately winning listings of companies at the NYSE Group
  • Develop and implement sales strategies aligned with the NYSE’s objectives in the Asian markets
  • Stay informed on capital market trends, regulatory changes, and economic developments in Asia
  • Build on NYSE Group’s brand to identify and address target companies and grow the footprint and mindshare in the region.
  • Develop strong partnerships with PE/VC firms, lawyers, bankers and other capital markets professionals, directors and other investors/advisers who play a key role in determining listing decisions
  • Lead or support the management, coordination and planning of seminars, conferences, and other origination activity in the region. This includes creating and delivering senior management briefing documents, listings pitches, speeches, industry event content, etc.
  • Represent NYSE Group, on an as needed basis, in meetings, conferences and creating engagement strategies to establish key relationships
  • Onboard companies throughout the whole listing process as they move through eligibility and application stages
  • Develop statistical studies and presentations in preparation for and as follow-up to prospect company meetings
  • Maintain required call reports, territory status reports and prospect company information files
  • Collaborate with colleagues in a unified team approach to support and win business
  • Leverage a large existing Intercontinental Exchange team and businesses already in APAC region

Knowledge and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required, with significant experience in business development and track record of winning deals
  • Knowledge and strong connections within the APAC region; demonstrate ability to understand and integrate unique cultures and languages of the APAC region
  • Self-starter, strong sales background in developing sales metrics, business plans and a disciplined sales methodology
  • Experience in investment banking, consulting, PE/VC firms preferred
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and organizational skills, mandarin language is a plus
  • Strong presentation skills with audiences of all seniority and public speaking experience
  • Well-demonstrated analytical ability and experience in interfacing with senior management
  • Ability to be a self-starter and work independently, as well as collaborate as part of the broader APAC team and International team
  • Ability and willingness to travel internationally as required by the role
