Director AI/ML - Performance & Supportability

As a Director of Software Engineering at Zscaler, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that ZDX provides a fast, reliable, and user-centric experience globally. Your responsibilities will include shaping the strategy, leading and mentoring teams, and collaborating cross-functionally to enhance product performance and operational supportability. Reporting to the Vice President of Software Development Engineering, you will be accountable for various key tasks:- Defining and executing the performance and supportability roadmap for ZDX in line with customer needs and business objectives.- Establishing and expanding high-performing engineering and product teams specializing in telemetry, root cause analysis, and end-to-end service quality.- Cultivating a customer-centric culture by advocating for seamless experiences, swift incident resolution, and insightful analytics.- Collaborating with leaders across different functions such as product, support, engineering, and SRE to streamline feedback loops and expedite issue resolution.- Bringing clarity to intricate problems, prioritizing impactful areas, and simplifying support processes through automation and AI.To qualify for this role, you should possess the following minimum qualifications:- Over 14 years of experience in product engineering, platform engineering, or cloud/SaaS infrastructure, with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity.- Demonstrated expertise in constructing and scaling distributed systems with a focus on performance and reliability.- Strong technical acumen and the ability to delve deep into architecture, telemetry pipelines, and incident workflows.- Experience in leading multifunctional teams and collaborating with support and SRE to provide customer-centric solutions.- Proficiency in building, deploying, and optimizing Machine Learning Models and algorithms.Additionally, the following preferred qualifications will make you stand out:- Familiarity with digital experience monitoring (DEM), AIOps, or customer support observability tools.- Knowledge of networking protocols (L4 to L7).- Experience in developing systems with Transformer Models and LLMs.At Zscaler, we are dedicated to creating a diverse and inclusive team that mirrors the communities we serve and the customers we engage with.
