Description

The Director, Strategy and Business Development for Asia Pacific (APAC), will collaborate with the APAC business leadership team, key stakeholders, the global Strategy and Business Development team, and other business units to drive CME Group's growth agenda in the region.

The Director will manage various initiatives related to the company's regional growth strategy, requiring strong analytical skills, the ability to engage senior corporate and industry leaders, industry knowledge, and meticulous attention to detail.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Proactively develop relationships across the industry focusing on the APAC region and within the internal organization to support business initiatives and objectives.
  • Design and refine business performance reporting tools to enable APAC and global leaders to track trends by product, customer segments, and geographic areas.
  • Prepare background materials and discussion points for regional and corporate leadership, including C-level executives.
  • Drive regional and country-level assessments and strategic plans to identify growth opportunities and address challenges, aligning organizational plans for products, services, industry engagement, and revenue growth.
  • Provide analytical and relationship management support for existing and potential exchange and commercial partnerships to maximize their value.
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration with divisions such as Product Lines, Sales, Regulatory, Legal, and Technology to support business development initiatives considering customer, market, regulatory, and technological factors.
  • Lead and support the identification, evaluation, and execution of new business opportunities in APAC, including developing commercial agreements and exploring investment or acquisition options.

Qualifications and Desired Experience

  • Degree or equivalent in Business, Economics, or related fields.
  • 8+ years of experience in business development, strategy, international relations, or related areas in consulting, corporate, or similar environments.
  • Experience in strategic and business case analysis and communication.
  • Experience in structuring and negotiating strategic transactions, partnerships, and investments is a plus.
  • Proven ability to work independently and in teams across functions.
  • Experience presenting to and leading discussions with senior audiences.
  • Strong networking and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience in financial markets, especially derivatives markets.
