Job summary

National Heritage Board seeks an experienced Conservator specialising in time-based media and digital art preservation to join a large team of conservators. The role involves preserving Singapore’s National Collection, advising on acquisitions and loans, and developing conservation policies for TBM works.

The successful candidate will mentor staff, contribute to digital storage projects, and collaborate across departments to ensure best practices for handling and displaying digital media

Qualifications

• Background in conservation with specialisation in time-based media or digital art preservation.
• Preferably 5+ years of practical postgraduate experience working with digital and media artworks.
• Team player with collaborative approach and strong communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to preservation of Singapore’s National Collection by producing condition reports and proposals.
• Advise on condition and maintenance needs of proposed acquisitions and loans.
• Support development of conservation policies, procedures, and workflows for TBM collections.
• Train HCC staff in best practices for care, handling, and display of digital and media works.
• Assist with planning and implementation for digital storage and related conservation projects.
