Job summary

The Heritage Conservation Centre (HCC) at the National Heritage Board in Singapore is seeking an experienced professional to spearhead the preservation and conservation of the time-based media subset of the National Collection. You will join a team of conservators with diverse specialisations and lead development of TBM policies, storage guidelines and best practices for digital and media art preservation.

Qualifications

• Background in conservation with specialisation in time-based media or digital art preservation.
• Preferably at least 5 years of practical postgraduate experience with digital and media artworks.
• Collaborative approach with diverse teams and stakeholders.
• Ability to address preservation needs of complex works including migration strategies.
• Experience with acquisition, loans, storage, cataloguing, and installation instructions.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the preservation of Singapore’s National Collection (NC) for TBM works.
• Produce condition reports and proposals, advise on future maintenance for acquisitions and loans.
• Develop guidelines for storage, display, and care of digital and media artworks.
• Train HCC staff on best practices for care, handling, and display of TBM works.
• Support digital storage projects and conservation-related special initiatives.
