Overview

SJI International Elementary School is seeking a Digital Technology for Learning Coach (Teacher) to start in January/ July 2026. Preferred candidates will work closely with the Head of Technology to promote and support the effective integration of technology within teaching and learning. SJI International Elementary School is a leading Google Workspace/Reference School with a dynamic approach to teaching and learning through emerging technologies. The successful candidate should understand and support the school's identity and values as a Catholic Lasallian school, even if they are not of the same faith.

Job Purpose
  • Promote and support the effective integration of digital technology within teaching and learning in all areas of the curriculum
  • Ensure highly effective use of digital technology that draws on current best practice
  • Provide students with a relevant, stimulating, challenging and enjoyable learning experience through the use of digital technology
  • Coach teachers and curriculum leaders in the use of technology by being a role model, co-planning, co-teaching and supporting staff as they learn to utilize digital technology effectively
Key Responsibilities
  • Coach teachers in how to effectively incorporate the use of digital technology in teaching and learning throughout the curriculum
  • Guide and engage teachers in adopting best practices in the use of digital technology to support student learning
  • Support teachers in providing relevant, stimulating, challenging and enjoyable learning experiences through the use of digital technology
  • Contribute to the strategic planning of technology integration and digital skills development for students and staff
  • Provide ongoing training for staff and students on Digital Citizenship and safe use of digital technology
  • Share information about safe and effective use of digital technology for learning, and beyond school, with parents and the wider community
Specific Tasks and Duties

Strategic Leadership

  • Lead, in collaboration with the Head of Digital Technologies, on planning with teams for the effective use of digital technology across the curriculum and documentation of this
  • Evaluate the effectiveness and sustainability of current and future digital technology used in the school as part of the Digital Technologies Team
  • Plan, in collaboration with the Head of Digital Technologies, professional development and opportunities for teachers to engage in professional dialogue around the use of digital technology in teaching and learning
  • Provide induction for teachers new to the school ensuring that they have comprehensive knowledge of digital technology at SJII Elementary School and how this is utilised for teaching, learning, assessment, reporting and communication
  • Support teachers as they evaluate their own practice, and be prepared to lead by example and through model lessons
  • Work alongside the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to develop realistic, yet challenging goals for digital technology as part of the Elementary School Improvement Plan (ESIP)

Curriculum and Pedagogy

  • Work in collaboration with the Head of Digital Technologies on curriculum design and delivery for digital technology
  • Research, model and facilitate a variety of ways teachers can use technology to help their students gain knowledge, develop skills and increase understanding, maintaining current knowledge of new technologies, ideas and practices
  • Raise awareness of and enthusiasm for technology-based initiatives amongst teachers, students and the wider community
  • Raise awareness of and promote safe use of technology with students, staff and the wider community
  • Meet and work collaboratively with grade level teams to integrate digital technology into existing curriculum and assessments and ensure that learning in these areas is relevant, challenging and ensures progression in learning
  • Maintain accurate and updated curriculum documents for digital technology such as scope and sequence and yearly overviews, making sure teachers can readily access this information
  • Contribute to the process of curriculum review in digital technology in collaboration with the Head of Digital Technology
  • Monitor, evaluate and review classroom practice, acknowledging excellence and providing support and opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Assist teachers in the development of technology-based activities and resources, including tools to differentiate learning and assessment
  • Support in the oversight of the continuity of progression from Prep 1 to Grade 6, and into High School, as part of a team developing effective systems and documentation to support this process
Assessment and Reporting
  • Possess thorough knowledge of the school’s Assessment policies and procedures
  • Set targets for raising achievement by collecting data and setting goals that address the needs of the students
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to create differentiated formative and summative assessments across the curriculum through the use of digital technology in reference to the IPC and IMYC learning goals
  • Work alongside teachers to enhance their use of digital technology to showcase student learning and in the reporting process
Collaboration and Relationship Management
  • Meet with grade levels as they plan, teach and reflect on the use of digital technology in teaching and learning
  • Work collaboratively with the Head of Digital Technologies, AP Curriculum and Assessment, AP Innovation and Technology and Heads of Grades, to monitor ongoing use of digital technology and identify where support may be needed
  • Participate in whole school IT initiatives under the leadership of the IT Director
  • Identify and take advantage of opportunities to use IT-based resources and activities offered within and beyond the school community
  • Support the Senior Leadership Team as they use technology to facilitate processes and structures in school such as surveys, schedules, presentations, communications to parents, data gathering and analysis and the Elementary School Yearbook
Resource Management
  • Support the Head of Digital Technologies in managing the digital technologies budgets, showing fiscal responsibility based on priorities for expenditure for areas of responsibility
  • Ensure that the range, quality and use of all available resources is monitored, evaluated and reviewed to improve teaching and learning
  • Ensure that digital technology resources are organised and managed to provide an efficient, effective and safe learning environment
  • Identify and take advantage of opportunities to explore and use technology beyond the classroom and within the wider community
Communication
  • Communicate with teachers, effectively and in a timely manner, matters pertaining to planning, meetings with individuals and teams, curriculum development, assessment and reporting
  • Assist the Head of Digital Technologies to ensure that parents are well informed about the effective use of digital technology in the curriculum, its goals and the assessment
  • Assist the SLT and teachers in the use of various technology tools to communicate information about learning, special events and bring the community together
  • Advise on the reporting of content and learning for digital technology
  • Report to SLT any matters related to digital technology
Self-Evaluation and Quality Assurance
  • Participate in the school’s PRD process as a reflective practitioner and providing a role model to others in this process
  • Seek opportunities for professional development through a range of opportunities such as professional reading, work with a mentor or critical friend, network groups, in-school or external workshops
General Areas of Responsibility
  • Be an advocate of the school and its decisions during interactions with students, staff and the community
  • Lead in nurturing a Lasallian Catholic ethos by building upon the legacy and tradition of the school firmly anchored in Faith, Service and Community
  • Maintain good working relationships with colleagues and students
  • Be a role model within the school in terms of professional expertise and conduct and lead by example

  • Support the PRD and performance management process as required to help staff develop goals and improve professional effectiveness
  • Support staff in meeting personal and professional goals
