Job summary

The Institute of Mental Health is seeking a skilled clinical dietitian who will provide essential nutritional therapy within both inpatient and outpatient settings. Candidates must have experience in dietetics, along with strong interpersonal skills, and should ideally be registered with the Singapore Nutrition and Dietetics Association. This position offers the chance to collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to enhance patient care in a pivotal mental health institution.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of experience in clinical or community dietetics.
  • Preference for individuals registered with the Singapore Nutrition and Dietetics Association (SNDA).

  1. Provide evidence-based medical nutritional therapy to patients in the psychiatric speciality in both outpatient and inpatient settings
  2. Collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team to deliver quality patient care
  3. Liaise with Dietetics and Catering Services (DCS) to manage Food Service
  4. Conduct health promotional activities (such as group education sessions)
  5. Ensure clear and accurate documentation for all service provided

Requirements:

Competency

  1. Good interpersonal and patient engagement skills
  2. Fluent in English, and Mandarin/Malay/Tamil/Dialects

Educational and Professional Requirements

  1. Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics/Master of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics/Postgraduate Diploma in Dietetics
  2. At least 2 years of experience in clinical or community dietetics
  3. Individuals registered with the Singapore Nutrition and Dietetics Association (SNDA) will be preferred

For the Senior role, you are also expected to:

  • Have at least 4 years of experience as a clinical dietitian, specialising in either psychiatry, geriatric, paediatrics, and/or food service
  • Supervise and monitor the performance of dietitians, dietetic interns, and polytechnic student attachments
