Job Description

  • Maintain the technical solutions for applications deployment and maintenance.
  • Maintain and even improve the means so that products are correctly and continuously integrated and deployed in quality assurance, UAT, production, and DR environments, respecting established rules.
  • Support software teams on behavior testing, automated testing, and debugging of applications across various environments.
  • Support service team with tools and custom scripts for applications maintenance, in a simple and efficient manner.
  • Secure the product operability.
  • Understand the functional context of the product up to the point of challenging functional decisions.
  • Evaluate the system continuously and objectively so that the product with underlying architecture is state of the art.
  • Ensure that operational best practices (supervision/monitoring, backups, archives, log management) are implemented.
  • Ensure the SLAs are met even during deployment of new versions and hotfixes.
  • Ensure the software team is informed and aware of operational constraints.

Job Requirements

Essential Skills & Qualifications

System Administration

  • Basic knowledge of system services, SSH, and OS package management.

DevOps & Cloud Tooling

  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with containerization and Kubernetes (On-Prem and Cloud-based).
  • Proficient in Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines using GitLab.
  • Familiarity with ArgoCD and Helm.
  • Experience developing and maintaining Ansible Playbooks.
  • Scripting skills in Shell, Bash, CMD, PowerShell, and Python.
  • Experience with SonarQube and Fortify OnDemand for code quality and security scanning.
  • Familiarity with Jira and GitLab for issue tracking and version control.

Cloud Infrastructure

  • Experience with AWS and Azure cloud services.
  • Understanding of Cloud Landing Zones and infrastructure setup.
  • Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Ansible.

Networking

  • Experience deploying and configuring NGINX and HAProxy.
  • Proficient with network tools (e.g., curl, telnet, netstat).
  • Understanding of LAN architecture (CIDR, VLAN, routing, NAT).
  • Knowledge of DNS and SSL (internal and external).
  • Ability to interpret Network ACLs and request firewall access.

Security

  • Secrets management using Kubernetes Secrets, HashiCorp Vault, etc.
  • TLS and mTLS implementation with SSL in Kubernetes environments.
  • SSH administration and encryption-at-rest concepts.

Good-to-have Skills

  • System Administration advanced skillset (IPTables, systemd modifications, advanced kernel tuning, etc.).
  • Experience with different options of hypervisors (VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Experience with Kubernetes Service Mesh (Linkerd, Istio).
  • Familiarity with Singapore Government standards (e.g. IM8) and practices in DevOps
  • Experience with Singapore Govtech technologies stack products such as SHIP (Secure Hybrid Integrated Pipeline) and HATS (Hive Agile Testing Solution)

Build for the Run:

  • Deploy and administrate monitoring and alerting tooling (Grafana, Prometheus).
  • Craft monitoring and alerting thresholds.
  • Deploy and administrate a log concentration tool (ELK and Filebeat).
  • Kafka cluster configuration for maintenance and performance.
  • Create custom searches and dashboards on Kibana.

Other useful skills:

  • General technical architecture methodology understanding (RPO, RTO, SLA, flow matrix, ...).
  • SQL and NoSQL database administration basics (e.g., database dump, clustering models, deployment architecture).
  • Agile methodology and process understanding and experience.
  • Development skill with one of the following languages: Java, .NET. or Python
