• Proven experience of 2-3 years in garment design or similar
• Strong proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator)
• Understanding of garment construction, fit, fabric properties and manufacturing processes
• Excellent hand-drawing and sketching skills
• Knowledge of current fashion trends and market dynamics
• Attention to detail and aesthetic balance
• Good communication and teamwork abilities
• Time management and ability to manage multiple projects

Responsibilities

• Conceptualise and develop original garment designs that reflect current fashion trends whilst maintaining brand identity
• Create detailed design sketches, technical drawings, and specifications for production teams
• Conduct market research and trend analysis to inform design decisions and maintain competitive positioning
• Collaborate with pattern makers, manufacturers, and merchandisers to ensure design feasibility and quality standards
• Source and evaluate fabrics, trims, and other materials that meet design requirements and budget constraints
• Develop colour palettes, prints, and embellishments that enhance garment appeal
• Manage design revisions and iterations based on feedback from stakeholders and production teams
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant safety standards, regulations, and quality benchmarks
• Participate in design presentations and contribute ideas during creative brainstorming sessions
• Maintain design documentation and keep abreast of industry innovations and manufacturing techniques

About the role

We are seeking a talented and creative Designer #Garment to join our design team at Capital Human Resource Management Pte. Ltd. This is a full-time position based in Singapore. As a Designer #Garment, you will play a key role in developing innovative and commercially viable garment designs that meet market demands and align with our brand vision. You will be at the heart of our design process, translating creative concepts into high-quality, manufacturable products that resonate with our target audience.

Key responsibilities

• Conceptualise and develop original garment designs that reflect current fashion trends whilst maintaining brand identity
• Create detailed design sketches, technical drawings, and specifications for production teams
• Conduct market research and trend analysis to inform design decisions and maintain competitive positioning
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including pattern makers, manufacturers, and merchandisers to ensure design feasibility and quality standards

What we're looking for

• Degree or diploma in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or a related field
• Proven experience of at least 2-3 years working as a garment designer or in a similar design role within the fashion industry
• Advanced proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator), CAD programmes, or specialist fashion design tools
• Strong understanding of garment construction, fit, fabric properties, and manufacturing processes
• Excellent hand-drawing and sketching skills with the ability to communicate design concepts visually
• Solid knowledge of current fashion trends, seasonal collections, and market dynamics
• Strong attention to detail with a keen eye for colour, proportion, and aesthetic balance
• Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners in a fast-paced environment
• Good communication skills and the ability to present design concepts clearly to stakeholders
• Time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
• Experience working with international suppliers and manufacturing partners is advantageous
