Responsibilities

Design is central to Gardens by the Bay. Every year, millions of visitors discover wonder through thoughtfully designed immersive experiences, from iconic Supertrees and enchanting events to attractions, landscapes, and amenities that are constantly developed or improved. As a professional, you will combine creative thinking with rigorous analysis to address various design challenges while preserving the Gardens' unique identity. The design of signature floral displays is a key aspect of this role. You will also have opportunities to work on high-visibility architectural, landscape, interior, wayfinding, and graphic projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Changing floral displays: Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to research, conceptualise, and design floral displays such as Sakura and Tulipmania. Create conceptual images, perspectives, technical drawings, and procurement specifications. Work closely with stakeholders, colleagues, and vendors to execute displays to high standards within budget and timeline constraints.

• Other design assignments: Engage in various design projects, including architecture, landscape, interiors, graphics, events, retail displays, and industrial design. Analyze requirements, propose strategies, and present solutions visually and verbally. Prepare briefs, drawings, and specifications for contractor procurement once projects are approved.

Qualifications

• Degree in Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Industrial Design, or related disciplines.

• Minimum 6 years of relevant postgraduate design experience.

• Proficiency in design tools such as AutoCAD, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Sketchup/3D, and AI tools like Midjourney.

• Familiarity with horticulture and plant materials in design is advantageous.

• Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of multitasking under tight deadlines.

• Collaborative with strong relationship-building skills with peers and stakeholders.

• Excellent visual communication and verbal presentation skills.
