Job summary

DreamR is seeking a Design Manager to lead the Singapore design team, ensuring timely, high-quality project delivery and cross-functional collaboration to remove operational friction. You will guide designers, review proposals and drawings, coordinate with Head Drafter and other departments, and foster a collaborative, client-focused culture while upholding DreamR's standards.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in Singapore residential interior design.
  • Experience leading or mentoring designers to improve team capability.
  • Strong space planning, detailing, and technical interior design knowledge.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and SketchUp for documentation.
  • Excellent organizational and stakeholder management skills for multiple projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and allocate tasks across the design team to optimize performance and ensure timely project delivery.
  • Conduct regular feedback sessions and monitor team performance to identify capability gaps.
  • Review design proposals, layouts, materials, and specs to ensure DreamR standards and buildability.
  • Collaborate with Head Drafter to improve drawing and documentation quality for accuracy and clarity.
  • Maintain visibility of all active projects to track progress and identify risks.
  • Partner with Project Management, Quantity Surveying, and Drafting teams to resolve bottlenecks.
  • Ensure clear ownership and timely follow-through on all action items within teams and cross-functional groups.
  • Support designers during client meetings by providing guidance and expertise to enhance engagement.
  • Uphold professionalism and timely responsiveness in all communications.
  • Resolve complex client issues with clarity and care to maintain satisfaction.
  • Foster a collaborative, accountable, and low-ego team culture for continuous improvement.
  • Improve workflows, templates, and standards to drive departmental efficiency.

Preferred competencies and qualifications


  • Minimum 5 years' experience in Singapore residential interior design

  • Proven experience leading or mentoring designers to enhance team capabilities

  • Strong skills in space planning, detailing, and technical knowledge relevant to interior design

  • Proficient in AutoCAD and SketchUp for design and documentation purposes

  • Excellent organisational, communication, and stakeholder management skills to handle multiple projects

  • Ability to manage multiple projects effectively in a fast-paced environment
