Design Manager
Working Days: 5 Days a Week (Monday - Friday), 8.30am to 5.30pm
Office Location: City Hall
Salary: $6000 to $7000
Requirements
- Master's degree in Architecture from recognised and accredited institutions.
- At least 8 years of relevant experience.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist Project Teams with all aspects of the project, including design, technical compliance, and contracts matters. Ensure project aligns with cost, timeline, and regulatory standards.
- Design and Construction: Collaborate closely to develop conceptual and detailed designs, value engineering proposals during Tender/ECI Stage. Assist and coordinate with Project Teams to ensure timely deliverables and objective-aligned project delivery. Provide support and direction.
- Regulatory Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure project compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Contract Administration: Support Project Manager / Project Team in contract management. Ensure project deliverables and timelines are met.
- Project Coordination: Manage and coordinate design and technical aspects of the project with consultants and oversee the preparation and review of construction documents and drawings. Conduct site walks with Project Team and ensure documentation aligns with regulatory and project requirements.
- Manage the design and delivery for a range of project types.
- Lead project meetings and presentations; ensure client is adequately briefed on project progress.
- Lead communication between the project team, clients, contractors, and consultants.
- Actively lead various project team sizes for successful delivery.
- Ensure all work meets client requirements, with the design team working to correct specifications and delivering high-quality, timely products.
- Anticipate and resolve complex technical and design issues during document preparation and construction administration.
- Collaborate with design team, clients, consultants, contractors, fabricators, regulatory agencies, and vendors to meet project objectives.
- Provide design and technical guidance and innovative solutions to resolve challenges.
- Lead junior staff: motivate, ensure quality, facilitate clear communication, and utilize team skills and resources effectively.
