Design Manager
- Working Days: 5 Days A Week (Monday – Friday), 8.30am to 5.30pm
Office at City Hall - Salary: $6000 to $7000
Requirements
- Master's degree in Architecture, from recognised and accredited institutions.
- At least 8 years of relevant experience.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist the Project Teams with all aspects of the project, including design, technical compliance, and contracts matters. Ensure project aligns with cost, timeline, and regulatory standards.
- Design and Construction: Collaborate closely to develop conceptual and detailed designs, value engineering proposals during Tender/ ECI Stage. Assist and coordinate with Project
- Teams to ensure timely deliverables and objective-aligned project delivery. Provide support and direction.
- Regulatory Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure project compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Contract Administration: Support Project Manager / Project Team in contract management. Ensure project deliverable and timelines are met.
- Project Coordination: Manage and coordinate design and technical aspects of the project with consultants and oversee the preparation and review of construction documents and drawings.
- Conduct site walks with Project Team and ensure documentation aligns with regulatory and requirements.
- Manage the design and delivery for a range of project types.
- Lead project meetings and presentations; ensure client is adequately briefed on project progress.
- Lead the communication between the project team, clients, contractors and consultants.
- Actively lead a range of project team sizes for successful delivery.
- Ensure all work is carried out to the requirements of the client, with the design team working to the correct specifications and delivering a high quality and timely product to the client.
- Anticipate and resolve complex technical and design issues as they arise during document preparation and construction administration.
- Collaborate with design team, clients, consultants, contractors, fabricators, regulatory agencies and other vendors to meet overall project objectives.
- Provide design and technical guidance and innovative solutions to resolve design and technical challenges.
- Lead more junior members of staff: motivate and ensure quality of work; ensure clear communication; understand the skills of the team and wider resources within the office.
