Job Description:

  1. Responsible for Design management.
  2. Participate in current LTA railway project.
  3. Responsible for handling client and consultant, coordinate with consultants, client, and authorities for design matters.
  4. Oversee the shop drawings submissions and issuance, planning and control delivery of design schedule, monitoring the progress.
  5. Internal coordination with the construction and other departmental teams for their requirements, provisions.
  6. Select and engage, then monitor the performance of external design partners within the discipline including their deliverables, cost and timeframes.
  7. Manage the design approval process in accordance with project requirements and program.
  8. Prepare budgets and schedules of design delivery for management approval then manage and report the cost of design delivery in the project life cycle.
  9. Manage design to ensure the cost of the works meets project requirements.
  10. Manage and review milestone deliverables from the Design Consultants to ensure the compliance and adherence to project schedule, scope and Design Brief, Stakeholders’ requirements and comments, statutory codes and regulations, and company guidelines.
  11. Obtain, review and consolidate Stakeholders’ feedback on stage deliverables, and relay such feedback as directives to Consultants.
  12. Supervise the work of subordinate design and drafting staff to ensure project requirements are met.
  13. Select and develop design management staff within the project by providing leadership and mentoring to ensure their design management competencies.
  14. Understand design compliance and reporting procedures and processes and leadership in the communication of requirements.
  15. Foster the interaction between design and construction teams to maximize innovation and project success.

Job Requirements:

  1. Minimum 12 Years engineering experience with Degree in Civil Engineering recognized by PE Board or qualification acceptable to the Commissioner of Building control as eligible for application as a Resident Engineer or Recognized Degree in the relevant field subject to the acceptance of the engineer.
  2. At least 8 years of experience in the design of civil and structures for projects of similar scale and complexity.
  3. Recognized Degree in Civil Engineering.
  4. Experience in LTA and SMRT projects will be an advantage.
  5. Good interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  6. Resourceful, self-driven, proactive, and able to foster collaboration.
  7. Able to work well independently and as a team.
