Job summary

PEC PTE. LTD. in Singapore is seeking a skilled Instrumentation Engineer to support electrical/control design for oil and gas projects.

You will prepare instrument location plans, cable routing, panel layouts, and associated drawings under the guidance of senior engineers. The role requires a degree or diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering with at least 3 years' relevant experience, ideally in oil & gas or petrochem, and knowledge of Smart Plant Instrumentation and AVEVA E3D, plus

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years’ relevant experience, preferably in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Power Producer.
• Good knowledge of electronic instruments, PLC and DCS systems.
• Knowledge of Smart Plant Instrumentation and AVEVA E3D.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Prepare instrument location plans, cable routing, panel layouts, MCT drawings.
• Prepare cable tray routing, sizing, hook-up drawings, schedules.
• Support Senior Instrumentation Engineer in reviewing designs and guiding CAD Technicians.
• Review instrumentation and control scope per contract and monitor progress; analyze data and write reports.
• Liaise with clients, suppliers, contractors and authorities; work with design, operation engineers, purchasers and staff.

Job description

Duties & Responsibilities

• Preparation of Instrument location plans, Cable routing.
• Preparation of Panel layouts, MCT drawings.
• Preparation of Cable Tray routing, Cable Tray sizing.
• Preparation of Hook-up drawings.
• Preparation of Schedules viz; cable, drum, installation etc.
• Preparation of Block Cable Diagram.
• INtools modules viz; Wiring - Loop Extraction, Hook-up module, Instrument Index.
• Preparation of instrumentation design specifications.
• Support the Senior Instrumentation Engineer in reviewing the proposed design and control systems and provide technical guidance to CAD Technicians.
• Reviews the scope of instrumentation and control work according to the contract and monitors progress of instrumentation and control design work by others and analyze data and present findings in written reports.
• Supports the Senior Instrumentation Engineer in Troubleshooting and problem-solving and performing other tasks as deemed necessary as related to instrumentation and control systems.
• Works collaboratively with design engineers, operation engineers, purchasers and other internal staff.
• Understands all related instrumentation codes, standards and best practices and their application to the project. Liaise with clients, suppliers, contractors and relevant authorities.

Qualification & Experience Generally Required

• Degree / Diploma in Electrical / Electronic Engineering.
• Equivalent Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience, preferable in Oil and Gas, Petrochemical, Power Producer.
• Good knowledge of Electronic Instruments, PLC and DCS system.
• Knowledge of specialized software such as Smart Plant Instrumentation and AVEVA E3D etc
• Proficiency in computer knowledge of MS Word, Excel, AutoCAD, etc.
