Job description

Project Design & Planning:

1. Develop detailed civil engineering designs for infrastructure projects, including highways, bridges, tunnels, drainage, and other structural components.
2. Collaborate with architects, contractors, and clients to determine project specifications.
3. Prepare design drawings, technical reports, and documentation in compliance with local regulations and project requirements.

Analysis & Calculation:

1. Perform structural analysis and simulations using software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, STAAD.Pro, or similar tools.
2. Conduct feasibility studies and cost estimates to determine the best materials and construction techniques.
3. Ensure design stability, safety, and sustainability through calculations and modeling.

Regulatory Compliance:

1. Ensure designs comply with Singapore's Building and Construction Authority (BCA) standards and other relevant statutory codes.
2. Prepare and submit necessary applications, permits, and documentation to relevant authorities.
3. Coordinate with environmental, geotechnical, and safety engineers to ensure project designs meet environmental and safety standards.

Project Coordination & Support:

1. Provide technical support during the project execution phase, working closely with construction teams.
2. Review contractor submissions and shop drawings to ensure they adhere to design specifications.
3. Assist in resolving design-related issues that arise during construction.

Quality Assurance & Risk Management:

1. Conduct site inspections to verify that construction aligns with the approved design.
2. Identify potential risks in design and construction phases, providing mitigation strategies.

Sustainability Focus:

1. Integrate sustainable design practices, considering factors such as energy efficiency, water conservation, and the use of eco-friendly materials.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
2. Professional Engineer (PE) certification or registered with the Professional Engineers Board (PEB) Singapore is an advantage.
3. Minimum 3-5 years of experience in civil engineering design or infrastructure projects.
4. Proficiency in engineering design software like AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, STAAD.Pro, or similar.
5. Knowledge of local codes and regulations, including BCA, PUB, and LTA standards.
6. Strong understanding of project management, cost control, and quality assurance.
