Job description

About the role:

Reporting to the Managing Director, the Deputy Managing Director shall manage the Corporate functions and regional business activities. The role shall oversee the following functions; Supply Chain, Finance, Legal, Governance, Risk and Compliance, HR, Digital transformation, General affairs.

The role shall also facilitate regional procurement and supply chain, compliance, and cost-down projects and resolve regional problems in the Asia pacific region, including India and Pakistan.

The Deputy Managing Director shall also support company in formulating strategies to steer the company to meet the long and short term plans that is in alignment with our Japan headquarters vision, mission and objectives.

Job description:

  • Support cost down projects through localization or other innovative cost savings in the Asia Pacific region
  • Support the development of compliance and governance framework for the Asia Pacific region
  • Make analysis on company financial performance and inventory of Asia Pacific to Headquarter and Asia pacific Senior Management, providing key insights and recommendations
  • Maintain existing and expand regional supply chain networks, steady material supply
  • Provide necessary expertise and support to our Asia Pacific support
  • Support in development and implementation of strategic business direction and action plans across various functions to achieve objectives and meet the Headquarter mid-term plan
  • Manage management team and also provide support and coaching where necessary
  • Ensure company’s business activities is in compliance to the Singapore and international regulatory controls
  • Maintain good relationships with all internal and external stakeholders and be a bridge between the company, headquarters and our affiliates and customers in the Asia pacific region

Requirements:

  • Minimum Degree in Business Management or other related field
  • Experience working in lubricants industry
  • Excellent command of the Japanese Language is required. This role has to communicate in Japanese as well as writing to liaise with Headquarters in Japan and overseas affiliates, understand lubricant papers in Japanese, preparation of reports and presentations in Japanese. (JLPT Level N1 or equivalent).
  • Able to converse and present in English for communications with affiliates and staff
  • Able to travel overseas for business trips when necessary in the Asia Pacific region including India and Pakistan, Middle East, Australia
  • Has at least 12 years of experience as a Middle / Senior Management experience and has worked with multicultural environment and managing various department functions and affiliates
  • Work experience in one or more of the following areas, Supply chain, Lubricants product knowledge, Finance, and Management Accounting
  • Strong leadership skills to drive company activities in Asia Pacific
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
