Job SummaryThe Deputy Manager - Project Freight and Pricing (Secure Freight Management) is responsible for preparing customer proposals and/or tender documents and fulfilling orders, from identifying customer needs, developing proposals. He/She is also responsible for managing customers and coordinating with colleagues during the entire process. He/She is also responsible for managing freight business resources, including manpower, internal assets and external vendors. Resourceful and analytical, he/she is required to manage resources to obtain buy-in from internal and external stakeholders. He/She is also expected to lead a team, make business decisions independently and be accountable for the profit and loss of the team.
Job Responsibilities/Key Tasks (External)• Develop freight shipment solutions for improvements and/or closing gaps
• Maintain relationships with vendors, carriers, freight forwarders and port authorities to provide competitive shipping solutions to customers
• Monitor lapses in delivery of logistics services to customers
• Implement intervention strategies to mitigate gaps in delivery of logistics services
• Communicate to employees on the variations in rating principles, states as well as operator variations
• Manage carrier ranking or customer priority system to ensure strategic business is protected during periods of capacity shortage
• Manage teams in the workplace
• Develop measures to improve vendor management capability in the organization
• 5-8 years of relevant experience
• Candidate experience in Tender bidding and procurement will be preferred
• Able to travel to various ports or customer side when needed
• Able to do OT as and when needed
• Singaporean only
