[What the role is]

The Safety Regulation Group (SRG) is the group within CAAS that is responsible for upholding a safe aviation environment in Singapore. As Singapore’s aviation safety regulator, SRG oversees the safety of civil aviation operations in Singapore and operations of Singapore aircraft worldwide. A safe aviation environment underpins the sustained development of vibrant air hub and civil aviation industry in Singapore.

[What you will be working on]

As part of the Safety Assurance team within SRG, you will drive the safety data collection and analysis effort to draw safety insights, formulate actionable mitigation measures and evaluate the effectiveness of mitigation measures. Key responsibilities include (i) managing the collection of safety data (ii) conducting data analysis to detect safety hazards and emerging risks and (iii) recommends measures to eliminate or manage the detected hazards and emerging risks.

You will also be responsible for tracking a set of pre-defined Safety Performance Indicators to identify adverse safety trends at the national level. You will have to work with both internal and external experts for the collection and analysis of safety data, be involved in managing both national and regional safety data-related initiatives to continuously enhance our safety data collection and processing processes. You will also manage engagements with experts and partners in the aviation industry, related government agencies and international organisations on data collaboration and safety data analysis to advance our safety interests, and position Singapore as a leading data-driven safety regulator.

[What we are looking for]

  • Knowledge and experience in safety data collection and analysis, Safety Management System and Safety Risk Management

  • Training in any of the relevant disciplinesstated above

  • Proficient in data analytics and visualisation tools (e.g. Python, Tableau)

  • Be inquisitive, self-motivated and team oriented.

  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to influence and drive win-win goals across key stakeholders.
