A leading company in Singapore seeks a Payroll Specialist to manage payroll processing, ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations. This role involves collaboration with vendors, data management, and maintaining payroll records. You will be responsible for the accuracy and efficiency of payroll activities while serving as the point of contact for payroll-related queries.
Job Description
Gather, transform, and compile data changes from various sources and provide them to the Payroll Provider.
Ensure accurate, compliant, and timely processing of new hires, transfers, promotions, and terminations.
Handle statutory registration and de-registration with social security, labour, and tax authorities.
Process overtime payments in accordance with local laws and regulations.
Complete all post-payroll activities promptly and accurately, including reviewing and approving payroll funding bank files, submitting journal entries to Finance, and reconciling records and bank statements.
Verify payroll tax and social contribution filings for all legal entities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance in payments to employees, government agencies, and third-party providers (e.g., pensions, social security, health insurances).
Review and ensure timely submission of employer tax filings on a monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad-hoc basis.
Maintain payroll records, perform data audits, and ensure records are compliant with corporate and statutory requirements. Conduct regular checks and true-ups to support employee lifecycle changes.
Serve as the point of contact for payroll queries and updates.
Collaborate with outsourced vendors to improve payroll processing efficiency, identify system/process gaps, propose solutions, document change requests, and coordinate implementation with stakeholders.
Manage payroll-related queries from internal and external auditors and tax authorities.
Review statutory government claims submissions processed by the Payroll Vendor, such as NSmen pay, maternity leave, paternity leave, and childcare leave.
Create, develop, and maintain payroll process documentation and improvements.
Perform internal staff cost recharging and accruals.
Perform other duties as reasonably assigned by your supervisor or department head.
Job Requirements
Experience in regional payroll is a plus.
