Job description

Job Responsibilities

• Plans, organises and manages engineering activities and feedback crucial matters from projects.
• Carries out engineering design/drawings related to their disciplines.
• Reviews design and drawings prepared by subordinates.
• Prepares Purchase Specifications, as required.
• Approves drawings submitted by sub-contractors or vendors.
• Provides technical support to Operations and Commercial Departments
• Coordinates internally with other departments, i.e. construction engineering, QA, production, procurement team on technical query, clarifications, site query,
• Coordinates internally with other engineering discipline to develop layout drawings, penetrations and reinforcements, resolving interference problems etc,
• Participates in project meeting, attends to basic technical queries and issues related to basic structural design and reviews design deliverables on project facilities, fabrication, transportation and installation
• Liaises with owners, statutory and classification authorities for design compliance review and approval on the proposed project plans in meeting project requirements
• Generates reports on work progress and submits to senior team members for review and approval before submitting to owners, statutory and classification authorities for approval and maintains project database for future references
• Coordinates with external design house, client, classification/ certificate verification authority on technical issues and design solutions in the awarded project

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Marine Engineering or related engineering disciplines, Diploma holders with relevant experience are welcomed to apply
• Minimum 20 years in offshore oil and gas project managing topsides design works
• Able to liaise with internal and external parties;
• Able to plan, execute and strategize engineering execution;
• Able to comprehend the strategies, work methods, processes and systems in overall project execution and engineering execution of topsides design;
• Highly competent interpersonal and influencing skills to tactfully and diplomatically manage ambiguity, conflict and uncertainty in a culturally diverse environment.
• High awareness of safe working practices associated with design, construction, mechanical completion, pre-commissioning and commissioning of an oil and gas facilities.
