Role Summary
Dulwich College (Singapore) is seeking aDeputy Head of Financeto join its dedicated team. The Deputy Head of Finance will be responsible for administering various finance related tasks with regard to the preparation of accounts, and provide support to the Head of Finance. The Deputy Head of Finance will assist with the supervision and training of the Finance staff, in consultation with the Head of Finance, and for ensuring that proper accounting procedures are in place, and accurate records and reports are in compliance with statutory requirement and SFRS accounting standards.
Main Responsibilities:
To prepare monthly GST self-review and quarterly GST submissions
To assist in monthly cash flow analysis ensuring smooth operational cash flow
To prepare monthly journals, balance sheet reconciliations and schedules (School Activities, Fixed Assets, Intangible Assets)
To undertake intercompany and internal-charge transactions with other affiliated schools and companies within the group
To undertake reconciliation of billing issuance, credit note issuance, reconciliation of daily incoming receipt, reconciliation of FPS (fee protection scheme) purchase
Support the Head of Finance with external auditors for interim or year-end audits
Assist the Head of Finance with streamlining of finance processes and automation
To undertake various other finance tasks found in finance office including staff cover for other finance areas
To undertake other ad-hoc reports and tasks reasonably requested by the head-office and management including, if necessary, outside the finance department
To actively participate in the group’s continuous improvement initiatives, among others D365 enhancements and A.I.
Preparation of monthly closing reports, among others:
Head-office reporting pack preparation
Budget holders’ report preparation
Provide reconciliation reports between head-office and budget-holders’ reports including internal charges from affiliates schools / companies
Reconciliation of Activities P&L and Balance Sheet schedules
Match AR & AP reconciliation reports by respective teams and provide necessary feedback.
All other duties commensurate with the post.
Requirements:
Possess at least Bachelor's Degree in a Finance/Accounting related discipline.
At least 4 years’ experience in a Finance or Accounting role; with a minimum of 2 years in a supervising role;
Minimum 2 years of audit experience, preferably with a Big 4 firm (not a must but highly desirable)
Experience in preparing monthly trial balances, management accounts, cash flow analysis and forecast and GST submissions.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications, in particular Microsoft Excel.
Experience with accounting software e.g. (D365), and experience of sales ledger process including credit control are added advantages.
Motivation and dedication as a self-starter, resourcefulness and an ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
A methodical approach to work and is meticulous with great attention to details.
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across all staff levels
Positive attitude with flexibility, and willingness to work beyond standard hours when required
