A public sector agency in Singapore is seeking a Deputy Director for Workplace Investigations. The incumbent will manage investigations into employee grievances and misconduct, prepare comprehensive reports, and mentor a team. [What the role is]
The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) is Singapore’s central bank and integrated financial regulator.[What you will be working on]
MAS is seeking an experienced individual to investigate employee grievances and misconduct. The individual will conduct thorough, fair and objective investigations into workplace matters as well as impart investigative techniques and capabilities to the team. The key responsibilities include:
1. Investigation
a) Investigate employee grievances and allegations of misconduct within prescribed time frames.
b) Develop investigation plans, including timeline, stakeholders to involve, interview questions, documents to review, etc.
c) Interview relevant stakeholders and document statements accurately.
d) Gather, analyse and document evidence.
e) Liaise with relevant stakeholders, including HR, Legal, management teams and independent third parties (where applicable).
f) Prepare investigation report, including recommendations where appropriate.
g) Communicate investigation outcomes professionally to all parties (complainants, subjects of investigation, stakeholders).
h) Facilitate execution of recommended actions.
i) Ensure proper case closure and documentation.
2. Reporting and Analytics
a) Maintain comprehensive case statistics and metrics.
b) Prepare regular reports for senior management including:
c) Develop and maintain investigation templates and standardised reporting formulas.
3. Capability Development
a) Train, mentor and guide officers with less experience in investigations.
b) Develop investigation toolkits and resources where appropriate.
c) Review and enhance investigation standard operating procedure.
d) Stay current with latest investigation techniques and best practices.
e) Update case database and distil key learning points.
