Job summary

Ministry of Trade and Industry (Singapore) seeks a Deputy Director to lead a diverse team engaged with stakeholders across South Asia, the Middle East and Africa. You will drive policy initiatives, build networks with public and private partners, and represent Singapore in international engagements.

You will oversee strategy development, monitor geostrategic trends, and ensure alignment with Singapore's trade and investment objectives, requiring strong leadership and regional familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Lead a diverse and dedicated team engaging stakeholders in South Asia, Middle East and Africa Markets.
• Track and analyse geostrategic and economic developments and assess impacts on Singapore's trade and investment.
• Develop, implement and review strategies and initiatives to enhance bilateral and regional economic relations.
• Represent MTI during visits, meetings, negotiations; where relevant, lead negotiations with international counterparts.
• Build networks with government agencies, private companies, business chambers, thinktanks and universities.
• Drive talent management and staff capability development to meet team needs.
