Job description

What the role is:

You will report to the Head Naval Intelligence (HNI) and be responsible for advancing the Republic of Singapore Navy’s (RSN) strategic Defence Relations (DR) interests with Navies-of-Interest (NOIs). Your responsibilities include developing RSN's overall strategy for the NOIs, orchestrating DR interactions, and directing the execution of these interactions.

What you will be working on:

- Develop and refine RSN's DR strategies
- Create and maintain DR ledgers for each NOI
- Orchestrate defence relation interactions
- Monitor NOI policies and leadership changes
- Coordinate bilateral and multilateral engagements
- Lead open source research efforts
- Oversee staff development and training
- Represent the RSN at joint working-level meetings
- Manage strategic relationships with foreign counterparts
Challenges include understanding complex geopolitical and defence issues, navigating sensitive diplomatic relationships, managing competing strategic interests, processing critical strategic information, and balancing multiple stakeholder needs.
