Job description

What you will be working on

You will be leading a team of 20 civil engineers and technical officers to:

  1. Investigate defects associated with civil and architectural assets of MRT/LRT lines, work with rail Operator and other LTA divisions to recommend remedial actions and projects to improve the safety, reliability, and maintenance of the assets.
  2. Monitor and ensure timely rectification of defects and conduct of asset condition assessment by Operator to ensure good condition, availability and durability of civil and architectural infrastructure assets of all MRT/LRT lines.
  3. Evaluate modifications, renewal/replacement, rehabilitation, and enhancement proposals for civil and architectural assets to meet safety, maintainability and supportability requirements set by LTA and other statutory boards.
  4. Provide asset engineer’s inputs to LTA project teams and contractors to enhance the operability and maintainability and life cycle management aspects of all civil and architectural assets in all asset renewal/replacement and new MRT/LRT lines projects which LTA undertakes.
  5. Oversee the transfer of asset from LTA Project Team to Operator for new infrastructures after completion; account for and manage asset inventory for all new and existing infrastructures, compilation of relevant asset information, track configurations changes and disposal of assets throughout their service life.
  6. Provide Asset Engineer’s inputs on the Operators’ asset management plans or engineering reports related to civil and architectural assets of all MRT/LRT lines.
  7. Plan and conduct asset condition audits and maintenance audits on Operators to maintain oversight of latest infrastructure asset condition and Operators’ maintenance quality; review maintenance regime to upkeep good maintenance standards when audits surface areas of improvement.
  8. Table papers to Ministry to seek funding for renewal/replacement, rehabilitation or enhancement of civil and architectural assets of existing MRT/LRT lines when their condition justifies, and upon funding approval, co-led LTA project teams to implement the projects.
  9. Assist to develop or induct new technology solutions to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of civil structure and architectural assets maintenance.

What we are looking for

  • Civil engineer with at least 15 years of relevant experience in engineering design/consultancy, operations and maintenance (O&M) or engineering management of civil structures and/or architecture assets.
  • Preferably a Professional Engineer in Structural or Geotechnical engineering.
  • Experience in the formulation and implementation of plans to improve the performance, supportability and maintainability of civil structures and/or architecture assets throughout their life cycles.
  • Good management and interpersonal skills to engage and align both internal and external stakeholders to execute action plans, overcome technical and engineering challenges and secure O&M objectives.
