The Business Times, SPH Media's leading business title in Singapore, seeks a dynamic journalist to join its Singapore newsroom. You will produce original stories on geoeconomics, business and finance, working with correspondents across Southeast Asia to inform a regional and global audience.

You will shape coverage in multimedia formats—digital graphics, data journalism, videos and podcasts—maintaining accuracy, clarity and insight, and contributing to a daily regional newsletter.

Qualifikationen

• Minimum of 5 years' experience in journalism, including business or financial reporting.
• Strong understanding of Asia’s business, financial, and geopolitical landscapes.
• Proven ability to originate and shape story ideas for complex topics.
• Excellent writing with attention to structure and audience engagement.
• Exposure to multimedia or cross-platform storytelling is an advantage.

About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic, versatile and experienced journalist to join The Business Times (BT), Singapore’s leading business title. This role offers the opportunity to be part of a media title that is expanding its regional and global coverage to serve business leaders and decision-makers across Asia and beyond.

The candidate will work with BT’s expanding network of correspondents and contributors based in South-east Asia and Asia. The role will drive and shape coverage on topics spanning geoeconomics, business and finance trends. The focus is to produce original stories and content in multimedia formats, including digital graphics, data journalism, videos and podcasts.

Key Responsibilities

• Work with correspondents to produce original content, including news stories, features, commentaries, and analyses across geoeconomics, business and finance..
• Collaborate with correspondents and teams in the newsroom to produce content in multimedia formats, including digital graphics, data journalism, videos and podcasts.
• Curate and repurpose content from across SPH Media’s news titles for a global audience focused on Asia’s business potential.
• Contribute to a daily newsletter tailored for regional and global audiences.
• Maintain high standards of accuracy, clarity, and insight, ensuring all content meets our editorial benchmarks.

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years' experience in journalism, including business or financial reporting, with a proven track record of creating original content in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong understanding of Asia’s business, financial, and geopolitical landscapes, with the ability to connect the dots across markets.
• Proven ability to originate and shape story ideas and handle complex topics.
• Excellent writing skills, with a sharp eye for detail, structure and audience engagement.
• Exposure to multimedia, data journalism, or cross-platform storytelling is an advantage.
• Interest or experience in applying audience analytics is a plus.
