What the role is

The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) is Singapore’s central bank and integrated financial regulator. As central bank, MAS promotes sustained, non-inflationary economic growth through the conduct of monetary policy and close macroeconomic surveillance and analysis. It manages Singapore’s exchange rate, official foreign reserves, and liquidity in the banking sector. As an integrated financial supervisor, MAS fosters a sound financial services sector through its prudential oversight of all financial institutions in Singapore – banks, insurers, capital market intermediaries, financial advisors, and stock exchanges. What you will be working on

  1. Conduct research such as literature review and cross-jurisdictional comparisons on various AML Policy areas.
  2. Assist in coordination and tracking of priority follow-up actions across agencies in the lead up to Singapore’s 5th round FATF Mutual Evaluation.
  3. Help prepare the review of papers related to FATF meetings - the Policy Development group, the Asia-Pacific group, e.g. compiling documents for review and setting out issues tables.
  4. Help draft legislation to implement policy positions e.g. sanction regulations.

What are we looking for

  1. Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a policy, international, and/or regulatory supervisory role.
  2. Excellent analytical capabilities, able to dissect policy issues and offer useful options and workable solutions.
  3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  4. Strong data analytical skills.
  5. Some legal background and knowledge in the drafting of rules would be preferred.
  6. Team player who is proactive and self-motivated, with a keen interest in shaping outcomes.
  7. Able to work independently, with a proven ability to drive multiple projects to produce quality outcomes in a timely manner.
  8. Strong interpersonal skills and able to positively influence internal and external stakeholders.
  9. Able to manage multiple priorities and needs of stakeholders in a fast-paced environment, with agility to respond to changes and developments.
