Job description

This position is concerned with maintaining high standards of food preparation, presentation, and the development of Commis chefs, contributing to the profitability of the kitchen brigade. The Demi Chef de Partie is responsible for organizing and supervising their designated section in line with Hilton International policies and procedures.

What will I be doing?

As Demi Chef de Partie, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Maintaining a high team focus by cooperating and supporting colleagues.
  • Providing excellent customer service with the customers always in mind.
  • Taking personal responsibility and initiative to resolve issues, communicating clearly with customers and colleagues.
  • Maintaining a kitchen environment that promotes flair, creativity, and consistency in food taste and presentation.
  • Following all Food Safety Management Program policies and guidelines.
  • Supervising and developing chefs of a lower grade, ensuring food quality remains at optimum levels.
  • Liaising with the Sous Chef and Chef de Partie to ensure high standards of food quality and preparation techniques.
  • Monitoring and controlling daily food merchandise, ensuring quality of goods received and taking corrective actions when necessary.
  • Adhering to Food Safety and Hygiene policies and Hilton Fire & Safety procedures.
  • Observing all hotel policies and procedures.
  • Performing additional tasks delegated by management or guests to ensure outstanding service.

What are we looking for?

A Demi Chef de Partie working on behalf of Hilton Guests, with the following qualities:

  • Previous experience as a Commis 1.
  • Knowledge, skills, and abilities including good basic cooking techniques.
  • Ability to liaise with the Chef de Partie for buffet setups and stay updated with current market trends.
  • Technical knowledge of the specific outlet.
