Job description

This position is concerned with maintaining superior quality and standards of food preparation and presentation, developing Commis chefs, contributing to the profitability of the kitchen brigade, and being responsible for the organization and effective supervision of the designated section in line with Hilton International policies and procedures.

What will I be doing?

As Demi Chef de Partie, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Flexible, responding quickly and positively to changing requirements, including performing any tasks requested.
  • Maintaining high team focus by cooperating and supporting colleagues to achieve team goals.

  • Taking personal responsibility and initiative to resolve issues, with clear communication with customers and colleagues.
  • Maintaining a kitchen environment that promotes flair, creativity, and consistency in food taste and presentation.
  • Ensuring all Food Safety Management Program policies and guidelines are followed and implemented.
  • Supervising and developing Commis Chefs/Apprentice Chefs, ensuring food quality remains high.
  • Monitoring cleanliness daily, ensuring equipment remains clean and functional.
  • Collaborating closely with the Sous Chef and Chef de Partie to ensure food quality and preparation techniques meet high standards.
  • Monitoring and controlling daily food merchandise, ensuring quality of received goods and taking corrective actions if necessary.
  • Following all policies and guidelines related to Food Safety and Hygiene.
  • Adhering to Hilton's Fire & Safety procedures.
  • Observing and following all hotel policies and procedures.
  • Performing additional tasks as delegated by management or guests to ensure outstanding service.

What are we looking for?

A Demi Chef de Partie working on behalf of Hilton guests and team members should embody the following qualities:

  • Previous experience as a Commis 1.
  • Good knowledge of basic cooking techniques.
  • Ability to liaise with the Chef de Partie for buffet setups and ideas, keeping abreast of current market trends.
  • Sound technical knowledge of the specific outlet.
