Job summary
Amgen is seeking a Manufacturing System Engineer (DeltaV) to support design, maintenance, and lifecycle management of manufacturing automation systems. You will troubleshoot, implement changes, and collaborate with QA, IT/OT, Maintenance, and Process Engineering to improve system reliability and regulatory compliance.
The ideal candidate has a Master’s or Bachelor’s in Engineering/ Life Sciences with 4+ years in manufacturing automation, ideally in biotech/pharma, and hands-on DeltaV experience.
Qualifications
- Masters/ bachelor/ associate level with life sciences or engineering focus is preferred
- 4+ years in manufacturing automation in biotech or pharma is favored
- Experience with DeltaV DCS and ISA-88 batch principles
- Strong knowledge of GMP, EHSS, and regulatory documentation
- Ability to troubleshoot, document, and implement CAPAs
- Cross-functional collaboration with IT/OT, QA, maintenance, and process engineering
- Experience with change controls, deviations, and risk assessments
Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day automation support, troubleshooting, and incident investigation
- Assess, test, deploy, document automation changes per SOPs and GMP
- Support automation projects from design through commissioning and handover
- Escalate complex issues to Senior Manufacturing Systems Engineer
- Identify continuous improvement opportunities to enhance reliability and compliance
- Monitor metrics and implement approved improvements
- Assist audits and inspections within assigned scope
- Prepare technical specs, test plans, and as-built documentation
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to execute activities
- Share knowledge with junior engineers and contractors
