Job summary

A marine supply company in Singapore is hiring for a position requiring a commitment to safety in delivering supplies. Responsibilities include checking cargo before supply, rigging and signaling cargo during vessel supply, and assisting with loading/unloading operations. The ideal candidate should possess a valid Rigger & Signalman certificate and at least 2 years of relevant working experience in the maritime sector. Basic English communication skills are necessary as well.

Qualifications

  • Must be willing to take responsibility and ownership at work.
  • Minimum of 2 years relevant experience in PSA or Jurong Port.
  • Must be able to handle shift work.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure safety and health measures are maintained during work.
  • Coordinate with Planner for delivery and equipment faults.
  • Perform rigging and signaling during vessel supply.

Job description

Responsibilities:

  • Committed to doing everything possible to prevent injuries and to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
  • To support the OSH program and make safety and health a part of their daily routine and to ensure that they are following safe work methods and relevant regulations
  • Confirm nominated product and quantity as per order delivery ticket before proceeding to supply such as: check & tally cargoes or tanker number/ seal / product grade / quantity.
  • Assist in loading / unloading of supply equipment and ensure all is good working condition & road worthiness before use.
  • Perform rigging & signaling of cargoes during vessel supply
  • Coordinate with Planner on delivery purpose such equipment faults, supply dispute.
  • Communication with Chief engineer and driver is clear when executing order during supply.
  • Ensure that delivery document is check and endorsed after completion.
  • Other ad-hoc duties as assigned by Planner

Requirements:

  • Able to handle shift work
  • Capable to work independently and able to work under pressure during peak periods.
  • Willing to take responsibility and ownership at work
  • Valid rigger & signalman certificate
  • Candidate must possess at least Primary / Secondary / “O” Level in any Field.
  • At least 2 Year(s) of relevant working experience in the PSA or Jurong Port.
  • Able to speak / understand basic English
