Job summary

V.Ships Asia Group Pte. Ltd. in Singapore seeks a Third Officer responsible for routine checks and maintenance of lifesaving and firefighting appliances, and for navigation and cargo watches.

Designated Officer of Navigational Watch with SOLAS compliance and ECDIS, you will support Master and Chief Officer across Singapore and international waters. You will assist in cargo operations, mooring duties and safety procedures, reporting deficiencies to the Chief Officer and maintaining proper deck

Qualifications

• Designation as Navigational Watch Officer with Singapore flag recognition.
• ECDIS and SOLAS-based lifesaving equipment knowledge.
• Proven STCW-compliant safety training and cargo ops expertise.

Responsibilities

• Maintain lifesaving equipment and vessel lifeboats per SOLAS requirements.
• Maintain firefighting appliances and extinguishers to readiness.
• Report any deficiencies in lifesaving or firefighting gear to Chief Officer.
• Maintain Lights, Shapes, Flags, Halyards and signaling equipment.
• Keep a safe navigational watch as instructed by Master.
• Take charge of a mooring party and cargo/port watch as needed.
• Understudy the Second Officer when opportunities arise.
• Perform other duties as directed by the Master.
• Assist in cargo, ballast and cargo spaces preparation and planning.
• Monitor cargo and ballast operations and maintain proper watches.
• Ensure vessel remains securely moored and deck security is maintained.
