Job Description

We are growing our Deal Strategy and Value Creation team in Singapore. We are looking for high-caliber candidates to join our team and be part of the exciting growth plans we have for this area of the business.

Our Deal Advisory practice provides holistic, data-driven client solutions related to acquisitions, disposals, joint ventures, buy-outs, market entry, financing, and other M&A transactions. We advise clients on their deal strategy and assist in creating value by identifying and delivering upsides and opportunities from their deals. Our clients include private equity firms, financial institutions, and corporates from various industries.

This role leverages your expertise in data science and machine learning to solve real-world business problems, while gaining exposure to business strategy, value creation, and management consultancy. You will work closely with senior advisors and business leaders, deepening your understanding of business optimization, M&A, financial restructuring, and other high-impact areas within Deal Advisory across industries. Through hands-on projects, you'll learn how data-driven insights contribute to strategic decisions and business growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze data for mergers, acquisitions, valuations, restructuring, and strategic advisory projects.
  • Apply data science and AI skills to identify actionable insights that create value and positive impacts for clients.
  • Load and preprocess large, complex datasets (structured and unstructured) for predictive modeling, statistical analysis, and visualization.
  • Develop predictive models, machine learning algorithms, and AI models to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Apply optimization techniques to solve business problems related to resource allocation and pricing.
  • Generate actionable insights, transforming analytical results into data-driven recommendations for stakeholders.
  • Create compelling data visualizations and dashboards using tools like Power BI and Tableau to communicate findings.
  • Present findings to senior management and clients, enabling data-driven strategic and operational decisions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or related fields; a Master's degree in data science and AI is a plus.
  • Minimum 5 to 8 years of experience in data science, analytics, AI, or operational research roles.
  • Ability to derive actionable insights from data and make meaningful business recommendations.
  • Effective communication skills to explain complex models to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience in financial analysis and understanding of corporate finance and deal structuring is advantageous.
  • Problem-solving mindset focused on results in high-pressure, time-sensitive environments.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams and manage multiple projects.
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • Alteryx for data analysis workflows
    • Operational research and optimization models (e.g., linear programming)
    • Python libraries for machine learning and deep learning (e.g., pandas, scikit-learn, Keras, TensorFlow, PySpark)
    • Predictive and statistical modeling techniques
    • Generative AI models (e.g., GPT), NLP, and deploying LLMs
    • Azure cloud platform and related tools for big data and ML pipelines
    • Data cleaning, feature engineering, and model interpretability techniques
    • Data visualization tools (Matplotlib, Seaborn, Power BI, Tableau)
    • SQL and relational database knowledge (e.g., MySQL)
  • Additional assets include:
    • Knowledge of GitHub, containers, DevOps, and software deployment
    • Big data engineering tools (e.g., ETL, data warehouses, Apache Spark, Kafka)
    • Other programming languages (e.g., R, Scala)
    • Certifications in AI and machine learning from Microsoft Azure
