Qualifications

What this job involves
  1. Coordination with DC Colocation provider on all maintenance activities.
  2. Work with Client BU and colocation provider for PPM schedules.
  3. Ensure all PPM activities and ad hoc work are captured inside the Change Order process.
  4. Coordinate with DC Colocation provider on all incidents, managing to resolution.
  5. Manage Power and Cooling capacity and ensure the Data Hall environment is within SLA guidelines at all times.
  6. Coordinate Colocation performance reporting and capacity management.
  7. Responsible for capacity reporting and incident reporting/escalation related to facilities issues.
  8. Handle queries from clients for troubleshooting and backend analysis.
  9. Provide troubleshooting support as needed.
  10. Support Service Management processes by creating, updating, and closing tickets.
  11. Oversee physical access processes to maintain secure Data Centre facilities.
  12. Manage execution of Power Maintenance Events.
  13. Support physical audits and ensure Service Management database accuracy.
  14. Collaborate with clients and vendors to meet and exceed expectations.
  15. Coordinate projects related to Data Centre solutions, space planning, power, and cabling.
  16. Order cables and supplies with clients/vendors.
  17. Assign tasks to staff; may manage shift scheduling and approve timecards.
  18. Act as a point of escalation.
  19. Develop and nurture relationships with other technology organizations and identify opportunities for additional services.
  20. Assist in managing team performance, recruitment, development, and performance reviews.
  21. Partner with the Critical Environment team for power maintenance planning.
  22. Participate in data centre provisioning forums and industry standards reviews.
  23. Foster a culture of customer focus and continuous improvement.
  24. Participate in data centre optimization and closure programs.
Qualifications

Ideal candidates should have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in mechanical, electrical, or operational engineering.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in electrical and mechanical services operation in Tier III or equivalent data centres or critical facilities.
  • Resourcefulness, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Relevant DC certifications.
  • Understanding of continuous improvement initiatives, client relationship management, and report preparation.
  • Strong understanding of Data Centre Power schemes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
