Key Responsibilities
- Define performance benchmarks for complex data environments and conduct stress/load testing for backup, recovery, replication, and scalability scenarios.
- Take full ownership of database planning, capacity projections, performance tuning, and privileged account management across multi-vendor platforms.
- Review platform release cycles and manage version upgrades or security patches across all database stacks.
- Collaborate with engineering and application teams to ensure data architecture aligns with solution design principles.
- Provision core data storage environments (filesystems, partitions, tablespaces) and support object-level creation post-schema design.
- Enforce data access policies that enable accurate, secure, and timely delivery of information across business domains.
- Monitor and fine-tune operational metrics to ensure adherence to SLAs, focusing on latency, availability, and resource utilization.
- Author and maintain governance protocols, operating standards, and compliance documentation aligned with internal controls and cybersecurity mandates.
- Lead impact analysis and remediation planning to mitigate data-related risks and support audit-readiness.
- Advise stakeholders on database modernization strategies including cloud integration, containerization, and automation frameworks.
- Participate in 24/7 production support rotations, responding to alerts and resolving time-sensitive incidents.
- Drive innovation through the adoption of emerging database technologies and automation tools to scale operations and reduce manual overhead.
