Job description

This is an opportunity to join one of our government sector clients. The role is an Assistant Lead Engineer opportunity that will collaborate with a team of engineers in supporting the Database Activity Monitoring (DAM) System. This role involves ensuring the DAM operations run smoothly, maintaining its health, ensuring high availability, and adhering to service level agreements and security policies.

Responsibilities
  • Execute Database Monitoring Administration Service Levels
  • Implement infrastructure and support for data security monitoring
  • Conduct database security monitoring and auditing
  • Monitor security alerts and collaborate with clients to ensure effective policy implementation
  • Manage database monitoring reports
  • Maintain regular communication with clients to ensure database integrity and security
  • Exhibit strong analytical skills
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their requirements and address their data security monitoring needs and use cases
  • Conduct regular reviews of policies with clients
  • Identify and mitigate vulnerabilities within the DAM system
  • Configure security policies
  • Advise on Database Monitoring Capabilities
  • Provide guidance to clients on database monitoring concepts and functional capabilities
  • Offer technical advice to the clients regarding the installation, setup, and configuration of database monitoring
  • Analyze internal or external business issues and recommend solutions or best practices
  • Engage in research initiatives aimed at developing advanced and automated approaches for database monitoring
  • Optimize Database Monitoring
  • Enhance the delivery of database monitoring with a focus on availability, reliability, scalability, and security
  • Develop automated processes to define, measure, and report on service quality, stability, and capacity
  • Resolve Issues
  • Oversee the assessment of risks associated with database monitoring
  • Address complex issues effectively.Provide escalation support for client-reported issues
  • Collaborate with diverse and dynamic teams to resolve challenges
Requirements
  • Bachelor in any IT equivalent (Computer Engineering/ Computer Science/ Information Technology)
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in the relevant field
  • Proficient in understanding the role of Database Activity Monitoring within security frameworks and familiar with data security principles
  • In-depth technical expertise in various database systems, including Microsoft SQL, Oracle, SAP HANA, and MongoDB
  • Solid understanding of server platforms such as Windows, UNIX, and Linux
  • Having the following technical certifications is a plus: * Database certification * Security-related certification
  • Strong communication skills to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels
  • Robust skills in vendor management, service level agreements, and project management
  • Open to fresh graduates with relevant IT degree - at least 2nd class upper honours
